Isleworth Tower Block – Leon Blanchard
This is a quick study of the top levels of a block of flats in Isleworth, in the Ivy bridge estate, London. This piece was never completed, as I was never fully pleased with the angle I had chosen to paint the building from, I also felt the piece appeared flat. I chose to paint this building as it is a set of flats that I see at least once every week and without fail grabs my eye with its intrusive hospital cream panels, which I chose to leave out, as I felt it would dominate my pallet of colour and leave me with fewer combinations to counter act this block colour. I feel this would have totally controlled the mood of the painting.
